Formic Pro - 2 pk

Formic Pro, previously known as MAQS+, is a gel strip containing formic acid wrapped in a wick that releases vapors, designed specifically for treating and controlling Varroa mites in beehives. These strips are placed within the brood rearing area of the hive, where they work to reduce the population of Varroa mites by causing mortality or infertility among them, both on adult bees and within sealed brood cells.

The strip's structure is built around a film composed of BASF's biodegradable plastic called ecoflex®, which acts as the primary material for the wick encasing the formic acid and saccharide (plant sugar) mixture. The ecoflex® material, in conjunction with the bees, regulates the gradual release of formic vapors within the hive, effectively targeting and eliminating all life stages of Varroa mites, including both female and male individuals. It's recommended to administer treatment within a temperature range of 10 to 29.5 degrees Celsius. After the treatment period, the gel strips can be left in the hive, and any remaining residue can be easily removed by scraping it off the top bars.
